Project365 197: Bluejay and Cardinal Chicks

A gorgeous day in our backyard today. As we sat outside enjoying the weather my wife spotted this bluejay chick sitting in the tree. I had seen mommy Bluejay fighting off a squirrel earlier, but couldn't see the reason for her troubles.

He or she sat there for a long time. Taking the occasional nap. Every once in a while it was snack time. (This shot was taken by my wife)

Also out in the yard was a young Cardinal. Unlike the Bluejay chick she was quite capable of flight.
