Project365 128: Sakura Photo Walk - A return to High Park

Ashok and I returned to High Park for a sun rise photo walk. We wanted to get some good images of the Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) which were at their peak. We had a good day and left as the crowds were beginning to build. Below are my picks with my favourite being "Sakura II". These Cherry trees were a gift from Japan.

(Facebook viewers, might like to follow the link to the original post to see the images in a larger format.)

The next picture is my top pick from the day. I really like the golden hues as a background. Right at sun rise time the blossoms are still shaded in blue as the trees as in a valley. About 60 minutes after sun rise (according to the book) is when the sunlight hits the blossoms. In this case the blossoms are some what shaded still, but the opposite shore of Grenadier Pond is getting the sun light.

Sakura V is an example of the warm sun light hitting some blossoms, while others are still in blue shade.

This took some patience as they were numerous tourists by the time I took this shot. I had to wait until they walked behind the trunks.

We walked past this goose several times - always with one foot off the ground. I don't study Yoga, but it looks like there are poses named after geese.

Another golden hued image I love. Have you ever heard a swan fly - those massive wings make quite a thump-thump sound, not at all like the flap-flap-flap of a duck.
