Water Lilies

I was not all surprised to receive a few comments about yesterday's that the image which reflected my own opinion that the image was too complex and difficult to understand. There was just too much going on. The pitch black background made it difficult to find a reference point. Oftentimes less is more.

(larger image further down)

Today's image is much simpler. There are still several reflection 'planes' happening but it is much easier to find the pairings.

(And now I try the new blogger feature where you click to read more...)

There are still a many things that could be improved with this image. There is a hidden green lantern whose reflection is visible. There are two white and two blue lilies in the frame, but the are not well lined up. Three of them are kind of stacked as a blob. A different vantage point would have provided a more pleasing linear arrangement - Perhaps a position 90 degree to the right? A a composition the concentrated on just the three flowers and their reflections.

This one is a lot better...As you mention, it's simple and easy to pick up. I like the concept of a "Water Lily" Lantern as well. It might not have been possibile to avoid, the green patch of light on water is undesirable in the picture
