Glacial Calving in Prince William Sound

Prince William Sound is located a few hours southeast of Anchorage. We took a small cruise boat out of Whitter to see some glaciers. This sequence of images is one of the calvings we witnessed.

Denali Animals

Denali National Park and Preserve is a massive park north of Anchorage. It contains Mount Mckinley (aka Denali), North Americas highest point.

We drove 62 miles into the park on a tour bus and on that trip saw much wildlife. Don't be mislead - there is a lot more natural scenery than wildlife but there were frequent sightings.

We didn't see any wolves or black bears, but did see all the other big ticket items. Black bears sightings are rare.

Alaska Album

We spent a good portion of July On a Holland America Cruisetour Through Alaska, Yukon and a little corner of BC. I took 3200 pictures, and brought 2700 of them home for further consideration. Almost all of them shot in RAW.

Some have asked what I was using for gear. I carried 15 lbs of photo gear with me everywhere. Main kit consisted of a Canon 40D, EF 24-105 F4L IS, EF 70-200 F2.8L IS, and the 2x extender.

Here is the first album I have put together. This represents a general overview of what we saw.
